About

Landscapes

A landscape does not really exist in its own right, since its appearance changes every moment. Therefore the impression it leaves upon you isn’t fixed and can be interpreted as a memory or sensation. This interests me.

Portraiture

My portraiture, if you can call it that, is more about the human condition or suggested layers of interest that hopefully make the painting more visually dynamic than a mere likeness. I like to use patterns or shaped imagery that interests me to decorate and surround the portrait in an attempt to express or depict attraction or curiosity. It is nothing new.

I consider composition fundamental to painting and that an artwork should always be beautiful to look at.
